Matthew 7:13-14 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
We’re in a new year. All things from 2015 are behind us now, and we have once again returned to the Cross Roads. We have an excuse and a chance to start all over again, start new, and give this year to the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him King and Lord of our lives once and for all, with all that we have.
No more wavering back and forth like a ship tossed out on a sea. No more lukewarmness like the hypocrites, but standing firm on the foundations that are provided in the Word of God and resisting the desires of the flesh.
The time has come for us to stand against sin and if that means we have to stand alone in this world then that’s what it means.
We have the Holy Ghost of God that we are sealed with and Jesus said he would never forsake us. Although the enemy would like to make us feel like we’re alone, we are not! There is a Heavenly Host that is encamped around the Saints of God!
Psalms 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
Job 1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
We are created to worship and serve God. Jesus Christ is the Lord of all and is due our lives filled with sacrifices, and the laying down of the carnal wants and desires of this world, because of what He has done for us through the work that was completed at the cross.
1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins ofthe whole world.
Through the fall of man in the Garden of Eden The Lord has made a plan to reconcile mankind back to him.
When Adam and Eve gave into temptation it gave Satan a legal right to have dominion over mankind.
Through direct disobedience to Gods warning, Adam and Eve severed the freedom from sin and bondage and became slaves to sin.
Genesis 3:17-19 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Moses was then called to free the Israelites from the bondage of Egypt. God then gave Moses laws and decrees for His people to live by. Not to make heavy burdens on His people but to keep them from heartaches, sickness, death, and possible separation from Him eternally.
God gave Moses the 10 Commandments which are almost totally disregarded by mankind today, and even ignored by many Christians today.
Galatians 4:3-7 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
We are bought and paid for by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
We are no longer in bondage to the law but the law is a schoolmaster a reflection of who we are in Jesus Christ.
The Ten Commandments are a guide for us and a road map that will keep us on the path of life. When we disregard instructions or maps we can become lost, and when we become lost we will start seeking counsel from just about anyone and that is not wise. We must be aware not to seek wisdom from just anyone but we should be in direct contact with the Lord but if we have forsaken His way we will be lost.
Matthew 5:13-19 13 ¶ Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
I’m not trying to put anyone into bondage. These 10 commandments are moral laws that have been put in place for us to follow and to bring peace and harmony into each others lives and to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 19:16-22 16 ¶ And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
If you’re looking for happiness through the things of this life you will only find yourself in despair and in want.
The world is filled with people who are addicted to drugs, alcohol, and pornography. Many are the woes of today. The sorrows of mankind have increased and the time for the return of our King Jesus Christ is near. The warning continues to go out around the world for the lukewarm believers and the nonbelievers to prepare for the coming judgment.
Through the fear of living an unrighteous life many are confused and not confidant in the future to come. If you’re in the Lord Jesus Christ you should be confident in knowing that He will deliver his people. But if you are living in sin and rejecting the truth day after day and you’re not regarding the conviction of the Holy Ghost then your house will not stand when the storm comes.
Matthew 7:26-27 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
There is persecution that is coming to the Church. We have returned to the cross roads. Now is the time to prepare. Do not be fooled by the pleasures of today thinking that all is well.
1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
There will be no warning. As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.
John 3:16-21 16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 ¶ He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
What will you do now? What road will you choose today? Come to the Light today and surrender your will to Jesus Christ.
